The soft paperback book is wonderful in seeing the villages that Jesus walked through. It also shows maps on the path He took after He was arrested. We went to Jerusalem last October and it just reinforces what we saw. It's a great educational tool. For packaging I would give it no stars. It was in a thin padded envelope. The book was bent at the top. If this had been for a gift, I would have returned it.

Helpful and in depth information. I wanted to shift my western, modern view and this book helped a great deal.

Bible students will love this 40-page volume. It is more of a visual smorgasbord. The text is minimal so you have just enough to gain what the pictures and maps will give you. Some of the best of the famous Carta maps are here. Bible study groups, Sunday School classes, and of course, pastors and teachers will love this volume.More economical than a full-scale Bible Atlas, but perfect if you are having an in=depth study of the life of Jesus.We have here another winner!

Gridiron Genius is a great read. In my opinion the best writers can take a complex topic and make it understandable. Its the Richard Feynman philosophy that you immerse yourself in a topic and prove your proficiency by being able to explain it in simple terms. The book will improve your understanding of every aspect of building a football team from the draft to defense. Hard Knocks covers the drama of the NFL and players trying to make the team. Gridiron Genius digs deeper and explains team building, culture and the process of winning in the NFL. And it translates to all of us in every day life.

A couple of interesting anecdotes, but mostly info that was already known. Also a healthy does of the author patting himself on the back. Many passages are prefaced or concluded by stating that "no one other than Bill Bellichick has thought of this". Often these aren't the most unique ideas. Hard to believe the other 31 teams in the NFL are all run by complete fools.

Overall I was a little disappointed-there was very little new information that I could have said darn it ,I didnâ€™t know that. His relationship with the great coaches were ok but it felt more like a diary he kept without getting deeper why did did what the did. And the last 2 chapters were more like his venting and wishes and nothing to do what I thought the book purpose-what make Walsh, Davis and Belichick great or even genius coaches.

Let me start by admitting the reason for the 3 star review by me is mostly my own fault.What do I mean? I got this book knowing that it was written as a sports book. In my own self created reality I was hoping it would be filled with more life leadership lessons than it was actually filled with. It had great sports info and facts just not what I was hoping for it to be filled with.So the 3 star review is mainly coming from my own selfish desire for this book. Fair? Probably not. So if you are wanting a book filled with sports facts this could be for you. If you are wanting a book filled with more life leadership lessons, quotes to memorize and notes to take from a book, then this may not be that book for you.Well written book though and I am sure the author accomplished what he was going after.

This cover two of the greatest coaches and football teams in the NFL. The Bill Walsh led San Francisco and Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Whether you like these teams are not they are prime examples of the best of the best. You get to learn some of what made or makes these head coaches tick. It would be interesting to have follow these coaches around along with Nick Shaban. I definitely recommend this even if you do not like these teams. You know that any football fan would want this kind of success for their team.

I really enjoyed reading this book, which was recommended by someone on the Quora.com forum when we were discussing a football question. Otherwise I probably would have missed knowing about it entirely. If you enjoy watching the NFL and were watching football during the glory days of the Raiders and Niners, you'll enjoy Lombardi's anecdotes and how he weaves what he learned from Al Davis and Bill Walsh with more recent lessons from Bill Belichick.The analyses and management lessons are forthright and insightful. You will better understand why some teams manage to remain competitive year after year; while others muddle aimlessly, occasionally winning big but just as often breaking their fans' hearts.Highly recommended for all serious football fans.

The version we got is the 1995 edition and is good for a backup chart ... but doesn't reflect the dozens of chart updates made since waters around Vieques were opened to cruisers and sailors. We're somewhat disappointed.

Excellent It bailed us out when we ran out of light before getting into the anchorage at Philipsburg and got us into several beaches that were completely deserted.A bit dated is spots (it is 7 years old) For example, Saba has installed a number of excellent mooring on the south and west sides on the island, making it much easier to get either by the traditional landing or LLadder Landing on the West side. There is a road down to that now (no more 1000 steps to climb). However it was out when we were there (4-1-00)

We've sailed and chartered in the USVI and BVI numerous times and ALWAYS take this guide with us. From little known anchorages (Mermaids Chair on St. Thomas) to the most frequented (Great Harbor on Yost Van Dyke)this guide is without equal.

I just love to read any book by Rujuta. With this book particularly Rujuta just brings back my childhood. Because so many recipes and the "SuperFoods" of course that she has mentioned were all my childhood favorite. But as I grew up and started gaining few pounds I just stopped eating some of them. But its when I started reading her books, I realized how wrong I was. "Der aaye... durust aaye..."(Better late than never....) I would definitely recommend people to read this book and just embrace the foods that India has to offer. For people who are not from India, just go back to your roots and eat what you or your ancestors have been eating. Eat local produce.Live like a kid, Eat like a kid.... :)

A very refreshing and reassuring journey back to roots. Easy and entertaining reading. It brought back to mind all the eating habits and home grown food we had growing up in the village. I recommend it highly to anyone interested in healthy eating. It is certainly an eye opener for culinary experts especially those in the Indian diaspora.

Though maybe I got something wrong.The third book brings low-carb recipes, and there is a nice diversity of things to try, mostly classic recipes, but they are tested and thus would be great for any newbie into low-carb cooking.overall, I liked this set of books, though it has some minor bloopers, but yeah no-one of us is perfect hehe.

Probably my all-time favorite book. As a Christian, this book blew me away. Despite the claims of contemporary archeology, there is overwhelming evidence for the existence of a semitic people in Egypt, living in slavery, then suddenly leaving - as well as compelling evidence for things like 1. the conquest of Jericho, 2. biblical-type plagues on Egypt, 3. Joseph (I won't list anymore - I don't want to give away the whole book!).The author, Tim Mahoney, spent over a decade researching, and he interviewed the experts. The amount of research and time devoted to this book (And movie) is exceptional. I don't think anything compares. My faith was increased ten-fold and plan to read this book again and again.

I've always been taught that contempt prior to investigation is a bad thing. Mr. Mahoney does do the hard work here, he investigates. The Bible as history is absolutely fascinating especially when put in the right timeframe. As an enhancement to faith, why would you base your faith on a lie? I feel badly for those that do. It is sad that politics and the need to be top dog on the religious heap takes precedence over fact. If your basic premis is wrong your end result is wrong and you've brought nothing to the table but confusion. I would like to challenge the scholars that will not set aside their prejudices to look at the facts.

If you are an ancient history or biblical archeology buff, this book will fascinate you. It details the author's research into the Exodus. He interviews experts in the field and over many years, develops an alternate timeline that fills in the blanks and answers questions that historians have been asking for the last 200 years. I thought I would read a little and then skip through. Once I got into it, I read it straight through and immediately ordered a copy for my youngest son. He has been studying the period for many years and had read many of the authors who were interviewed. He also was a little put off at the coffee table format, but started it and couldn't stop.

A great deal of research went into this monumental work! When ALL the facts are dug out and reviewed by people who are looking for the truth, and are not controlled by those who choose to ignore facts that don't fit the established line (which is based on old data), it is obvious that our institutions of higher learning have to do a lot of reconstruction of a faulty Egyptian timeline.IThis book is an in-depth look at many factors that add up to a marvelous realization! But the book, you will not regret it!

If desired, top with an onion slice, a tomato slice and one tablespoon basil. Place second buttered bread slice on top of sandwich in skillet. Reduce heat to medium-low. I have everyone of these cookbooks in the "101" series. They are the older cookbooks but the photos are colorful and there is a pictureof EVERY recipe so it gives you an idea how the final recipe will look. The ingredients are pretty simple and little notations come inhandy with tips for the recipes. I highly recommend these cookbooks when you can find this series.

I have not tried too many recipes yet,but the ones I have were great. What Iove is simple instructions and uncomplicated ingredients. I have a few other of their books and love them as well. In this era of quick fix meals, its easy to do from scratch with these recipes! You can feel good about serving a healthy meal for your family, instead of getting fast food.

This is another Gooseberry Patch cookbook - what's not to like. I have tried several of the recipes and knowing they are "tried and true" makes me confident in trying any of the recipes. The Chicken Noodle Gumbo is delicious!

Very good cookbook. The pairing of these 3 items, soup, salads & sandwiches is perfect.

Love all the gooseberry books...plus the pictures make it taste worthy!

Some people said that this book is full of common sense information, but while some of it may be common sense to us, you'd be surprised by the amount of people who have no idea how to handle conflict. It's a good, affordable book that I would recommend you purchase whether you're a student or someone who just wants to learn these skills. It is VERY adaptable to situations outside work and etc. Heck, it helped solve a conflict between my friend and I!

I should have cut my losses and not finished this book. While this is the type of story that I would typically enjoy, I did not love it. I did not really even like it. It is a murder mystery set in 2009 Louisiana and it also involves a mystery that occurred shortly after the civil war. Our heroine sets out to solve both of them. It sounds good, but it is not.Caren dropped out of law school and has been adrift. She returns to Belle Vie, the sugar plantation where she was raised and where her mother worked as a cook. Belle Vie is a tourist attraction and a prime venue for weddings and other events. She runs the business for the wealthy Clancy family. She was a playmate of the younger Clancy boy but his ambitious older brother is the one in charge. Caren lives there with staff who have worked there since she was a kid. She now has a 9 year old daughter of her own, from a long-term relationship with one of her law school peers. Outside the plantation proper, the Groveland Corporation harvests sugar cane. One of the Mexican workers is found dead on the property. There are hints of a cover-up by Groveland or by Clancy. It also appears that there is some link between this murder and the disappearance of Carenâ€™s great-great-great grandfather Jason, a free slave who continued to work on the plantation after the civil war. One of the employees at the plantation is writing about Jasonâ€™s story for a class at the local community college. Some tangled lies and deceptions later, Caren and her ex-boyfriend are trying to solve the murder as their young daughter appears to be involved. Their lives are in danger and Caren does not know who to trust. Plus, Caren had previously walked away from her life at the plantation and from her mother. She did not return for her motherâ€™s funeral. And then there is the newspaper reporter and also a graduate student writing his dissertation about Belle Vie. Are you following all of this?I was expecting a different type of novel. I thought that the story would shift between the present and the civil war era plantation. The second section of the novel is even titled â€œThe Olden Days of Belle Vie.â€ However, the story takes place all in the present. I think it would have been a richer reading experience if both eras were represented. There were a lot of secondary characters, so many that I had some trouble keeping track. Some of them served no purpose, such as the dissertation writing graduate student. I did not really care for Caren. I did not understand her and it was hard to get a handle on her motives. Also, they murder mystery was not too mysterious. Even the writing was not that great. It felt like the author was trying to pack in a lot of information and added unnecessary characters as a way to move the story forward. I think this book would have benefited from a clearer focus and some strong editing.

I could never connect with the characters, the author was too busy describing their jeans, t-shirt and shoes to bring them to life. I knew more about what they were wearing than who they were.The plot could have been interesting if developed. It just wasn't. The why of the murders should have been the story not a blip at the ending.

Attica Lockeâ€™s The Cutting Season is a gripping novel. I personally loved it because it was everything I love in a mysteryâ€”a Southern setting (a plantation,) a diversity of characters (the main character is an African-American woman, plus there are plenty of whites, â€œvillainsâ€ and otherwise.) The premise is that a murdered Mexican migrant woman is found on the grounds of the museum/plantation house that protagonist Caren Gray manages. The dead woman had worked the sugar cane fields just across the fence from the plantation grounds. Intrigue piles upon intrigue until all is solved. Locke, whose previous novel to this one was filled with twists and turns, tells a fairly non-convoluted story this time. There are surprises along the way, but mostly people turn out to be who they seem to be and the climax doesnâ€™t hit like a ton of bricks, but it does satisfy. About midway through, I had an idea Caren would find out something potentially earth-shattering for her, and she does. But her dealing with it was not how I expected, so that was interesting. And, I must say, Iâ€™m glad Locke dealt with it in the way she did. Attica Locke, who writes for the TV series Empire, is an excellent novelist and quite prolific. There are two other novels in her canon. She must be tired all the time, but I hope she continues churninâ€™ â€˜em out.

This book is very well written. The ending was so surprising I never had the slightest clue. While the book is largely about a young women who is confused and unable to come to grips with with her own family history, it is also about love, loss and the courage to carry on. Caren Gray, Helenâ€™s girl, is forced to move back to her childhood home-and the life she thought she hated. She tries to run from her past and to make a life as a single mother only she finds herself right back in the middle of it. Forced to drop out of law school she has to face the bitter loss of her mother, and figure out how to raise her daughter alone. In a strange twist she finds her fate and her past are intricately woven together. Unable to outrun it she has to face it. Some history, lots of intrigue, well defined character make this a very good book.
